Choir Uniforms are a part of the long established singing tradition. From the Greek Choirs, Benedictine Monastaries, Convent Choirs, Childrens’ Choirs, Boys’ Choirs, Church and Gospel Choirs, Public and Private School Concert Choirs, Barbershop Quartets, Glee Clubs, Show Choirs, and Elementary School Choirs, all have been donning on their choir robe to give a unified and distinguished look. Bringing the group together visually and aurally, is critically important. No matter the background, we’ve come together (visually) in heart, mind, and spirit to bring a unified look and sound.
At Surfside, we have a casual uniform for informal events (for boys and girls). One of two, is our casual uniform. It consists of choir tee shirt, blue jeans to the ankles and tennis shoes. Casual venues include, but are not limited to: singing the National Anthem at our school events, parades, elementary school events, and spirit Fridays.
Casual Uniform
On a casual performance, students wear choir tee shirt ($10), blue jeans to the ankles, and clean tennis shoes.
Surfside and Bay District Schools are encouraging parents to use the Online School Payments System for school materials, uniforms, or field trips (click the button below). Please note that first you will need to set up an account before you can make a payment. Once you have set up an account, you can pay for anything that your child may need to send in payments for while in Bay District Schools. Expect the small “convenience fee” for using this service; however, the simplicity of instant receipts will be sent to you, the school book keeper and to the teacher.
Guys’ Formal Concert Attire
The guys will need to purchase a vest a tie combo through the school, Solid black dress pants and solid black dress shirt (as shown) may be purchased at the store of your choosing. Guys will need solid black (lace up) dress shoes. This means no tennis shoes, high tops or sneakers.
Girls’ Formal Concert Choir Attire

Specific Expectations for Uniforms
- No additional jewelry is allowed. Specifically: wrist bands, hair ties, scrunchies, around the wrists, necklaces, spikes, or chokers will be allowed on stage. Thank you!
- Undergarments (straps of any kind) may be not visible to anyone from any angle.
*Previously owned uniform items are available upon request and availability thanks to the generosity of choir alumni. Rental fee of $40. Full replacement cost is $103.95 if the uniform is not returned.
